Interestingly, Sabaton is posting live videos of ther concerts from the European wing of the tour. Not sure how long it will stay up as many of these, despite being official vids on the official channel, are mostly taken down shortly after the next one goes up. Audio and video quality are mobile phone grade at best, but it's an interesting look at the energy and crowd at a typical live show.…

I'm a bit late, but January 22nd is the anniversary of the battle of Rorke's drift. Of course someone took the song and set it to Zulu with Michael Caine. And in case you want the official lyric video...…
It would be easy to turn this into the all-Sabaton, all the time channel, but they don't release stuff quite that often. That said, while I am still not a fan of the growl/scream vocals, this cover of "82'd All The Way" is actually pretty good. I like the effect of mixing the lady's voice with the guy with the more 80's metal voice. For what it's worth, 82nd is vying with "Devil Dogs" as my favorite song on the album. Oddly, the first track here, just like on The Last Stand, is my least favorit…
You can consider this the inauguration of a series - to insofar as possible, commemorate the events behind Sabatp's song on the anniversary of said events. I haven't mapped all of them to a calendar yet, so things may be incomplete for a while, but I've already seelcted dates for each song in The Great War. Today marks the anniversary of one of the first raids conducted by the Arabs in conjunction with T.E. Lawrence "of Arabia" against the Ottoman Empire. Incidentally, the story of Lawrence is…
I'd become accustomed to the dazzling variety of metal genres out there. Old school 70's metal, acid metal, black metal, death metal, speed metal, thrash metal, symphonic metal, power metal, folk metal... Filed under not quite as "what the hell did I just watch" as my introduction to BabyMetal, it turns out there is, indeed, a capella metal. Or the next best thing to it.…
Today marks the anniversary of the end of the 303 day battle of Verdun [https://infogalactic.com/info/Battle_of_Verdun].…
The most recent Sabaton History video is about the background to one of my favorite Sabaton songs - Resist and Bite. It's the story of the Belgian troops holding the border against the German invasion in World War II. Outnumbered, outgunned, with nothing but light arms, machine guns, and rifle grenades, the Belgian troops held their ground so tenaciously through maneuver and fire that when finally captured, the Germans were shocked to discover how few truly stood against them. And while we're…
As we enter the Christmas season, it is appropriate that Sabaton cover the last stand of the Swiss guard at the Vatican in 1527. I've said before - I am not sure where their beliefs truly lie, as they publicly eschew the title of "right wing." Nevertheless, the very fact they can and will discuss subjects like the rise to power of Hitler and the Nazi party with some sympathy for the German people, as well as the effectiveness, heroism, moral courage, or bravery of the ghost battalions, the Ger…
