I've posted about the various hobbyist games I play, or have played, but not everyone is up for all that. Maybe you want to play a round of chess with far-away friends or family. Or GO.

Sure, you could kick up vassal, or convince your friends to pay for Tabletop simulator (worth it, imo), but what if you needed something lightweight, preferably could run in a browser.

So, for Chess, I've discovered lichess. You can create a free game and send an invite link to your friend. Works well with all the major browsers.

For go, I've seen several options that work well aside from Vassal, but the one that's my favorite at the moment is playok. It's also free, and handles captures nicely.
